       For the first part of my foundation portfolio, I am torn between two options. I've narrowed them down to a coming-of-age film opening, or an art lookbook.      The coming-of-age film introduction came to me as I was reflecting on what genre of movie I enjoy most. This genre stood out to me for the fun, lighthearted, and upbeat vibe they encourage onto the viewers, even in just a short trailer. A specific element I love about this genre are the "getting-ready" sequences and character montages which are often included, like in Freaky Friday and The Devil Wears Prada. I feel like it would be so fun to film one of these that are personal to me, with even maybe one of my favorite songs playing in the background. I've always wanted to be in a movie, and this is a chance for me feel as if I am, which is why this option attracts my attention.       Despite this, doing an art lookbook would also be very fu n. All About Me! Hi! My name is Jil and I'm a sophomore in highschool. I chose to take AICE Media Studies because I watch a lot of films & shows with my family. I watch them for entertainment, but diving deep into how & why they're made is something that deeply interests me. Through analyzing them, I can pick up on things I had missed before, which allows for a stronger appreciation for the media I already love. I hope to be able to apply the things I learn in this class to the media I consume in the future. Some fun facts about me are that my favorite color is pink, I have a puppy named Bela, and I love to read and draw in my free time.
