Hello everyone! Today, I'll be piggy-backing off of my last blog post that discussed my film's two characters. This one, though, will focus particularly on my second character, who I will be playing!

This character has a moody personality and punk-like dressing style. She prefers to be alone--watching the world unfold from the sidelines with her headphones in. This is what I intend to capture in the outfit I created for her: which is pictured below!



I based this outfit off of the one I had in the moodboard. That outfit featured cargo pants, layered tops, dark colors, and a decorative belt. I tried to recreate this the best as I could with my own clothes! First, I used a grey half-sleeve graphic tee with a "cybergilism" pattern. The shirt kind of resembles those from Affliction, which was a popular clothing brand amongst alternative groups in the 2000s. I paired the shirt with a black long-sleeve underneath not only to replicate the outfit in the moodboard, but to reveal aspects of my character's personality. Loners in media are often shown wearing dark, high-coverage clothes. This reveals their introspective nature and that they value their privacy. Through dressing my own character in a similar manner, I hope to get this same message across!

I also am attempting to convey this in the rest of the outfit. My character wears baggy black jeans, layered tops, and a stylish silver belt. I didn't show it in this picture, but I plan to wear some Converse low-tops aswell! This carries that alternative, "Y2K" vibe throughout my entire outfit, making it consistent.

Overall, I really enjoyed building the outfit for this character. One thing I didn't address earlier were the pink hair extensions, which I believed would be a fun and cool addition to include in her design! Even though I wasn't physically acting, I felt creating this outfit helped me form a bond with my character and get and idea for how I want to portray her in real life. All I have to do now is finalize the clothing choices for Lihi's character! So, expect this type of content in my next post!

Stranger Things: Editing Case Study

  Today, I'm doing a case study on my latest obsession: Stranger Things! Even in just the opening sequence, the show is able to instill fear, worry, and anticipation within the audience. The preliminary scenes do a great job at setting the tone for the rest of the season, with certain cuts and shots particularly helping do this. In this blog post, I will be analyzing the editing techniques used in beginning of Season 1, Episode 1 of Stranger Things. This scene is showed in the first seconds of the episode. The camera tilts down to show this laboratory, which looks slightly mysterious. This is known as an establishing shot. It introduces the location where a scene will take place. The dim lighting, ambient nature noises, and fact that it's nighttime help set a foreboding mood, painting this building in an eerie light. This alludes to the action that's yet to come. Mood Boards!

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog! Today, I'll be creating a moodboard for my future film. I'll be trying to capture the vibe of each of my characters--such as their choices of clothing, aesthetic, makeup style, designated color scheme, and others--in each moodboard I make. This way, you can get a feel for how the protagonists look and potentially act. But, before diving into things, let me give you a refresher of my film's plot: "A bubbly highschooler makes it her mission to get the school's notoriously gloomy loner to crack a smile.
