First Set Design

Hello everyone! As said in the title, today I will be... designing my film's first set! Woop woop!

It's actually not much of a set. I'll be using my own bedroom to shoot the very start of the film. But, it is in desperate need of decorating. This room will be Lihi's room, who is the "girly" character that's polar-opposites to the one I play. I've searched for some inspiration pictures online on Pinterest.

These rooms are so cute! I like the pink and white color scheme. It feels very feminine and soft. It definitely gives off the vibe of a teenage girls bedroom. So, I'm going to try to recreate this for the set of Lihi's room with things I have around the house! Here's our canvas:

Um... yeah. It's looking a little rough. However, I think with some good lighting, pink bedding, and throw blankets, I can bring this room to life! I'm going to turn on the lamps and add some decorations on the nightstand, like a candle or claw clip. I also have some throw pillows in my room (one that's fluffy and another with pink stripes) that I think would look cute!

In the third picture, I noticed there's a little stuffed animal sitting infront of the pillows. I have a small bunny plushie on my bookshelf, which I'll definitely add in once I make this bed. I think that'll add a cute, personalized touch!

After some careful decoration, the room is finally complete. Here it is!

I really love how it turned out! I definitely would take a fat nap on this bed. I used different shades of pink, hints of white, a blend of textures, and a lot of patterns (hearts, gingham, stripes, floral) to make this bed look cozy but cohesive! I may or may not have ran to my sister's room to steal the heart blanket... put oh well! I also decorated the nightstand with cutesy, pink decor. This includes a vanilla candle, a book, (that happens to be a coming-of-age novel!) hair-clip, and decorative trinket box. Here's a before-and-after comparison:

Another thing I tackled in the designing of this room was the bookshelf decor. The inspiration picture is decorated with beauty products, cute pouches, plushies, and accessories. Here's how my current bookshelf looks:

I think I won't be making any additional changes here. I think it bears similarities to the inspiration picture, such as with the makeup products, perfume bottles, and cute trinkets as accessories. I think my shelf also looks more "youthful" and vibrant, while the one in the inspiration is more elegant and "aesthetic." Nonetheless, I really like them both!

That's a wrap for today. However, stay tuned for tomorrow's post! I'll be designing the second set. This set is the bedroom of the character that I'm going to play. I'll see you all then!
