2nd Filming Day

It's day two of filming! I'm all in-character, as you can tell from this selfie I took. Today, I'm calling out my dad and mom to help me film. My dad is going to hold the camera for me, and my mom is going to be in my movie opening but offscreen. 

But, I can film the rest of my scenes independently. A lot of my film opening is my main character's getting-ready montage. Here, she tells you about her life and affiliation to my second protagonist--who is Lihi's character Lily. I'm planning to wrap up recording today so I can work on my CCR.

For the getting-ready scenes, I'm going to mount my camera on my bathroom mirror or counter. I'm going to probably have to stack random things together in order for my phone to get good filming height! As for the content of these scenes, I'm just going to basic things like brushing my teeth, messing with my hair, doing mascara, etc. The voiceover and dialogue is going to "carry" a lot of my scenes.

Conclusion

I was able to get my dad to help me film the scene of me getting out of bed. I filmed my character doing her morning routine, but by the time I was finished, both of my parents were sleeping! So, I wasn't able to film the last thirty seconds of my movie opening. Because of this, I'm probably going to film tomorrow morning before school.

This also gave me a new scene idea. I wake up around 6:30, so I can probably snag a video of the sunrise and include it in my film! I could have my voice playing over this scene as well. This minor change in plans actually proved to be a big help!

Because it's late and a school night, (it's currently 11:23 P.M) I'm going to edit all my clips tomorrow or the day after. So, goodnight everyone! I'll check back here on the 8th!

  Today, I'm doing a case study on my latest obsession: Stranger Things! Even in just the opening sequence, the show is able to instill fear, worry, and anticipation within the audience. The preliminary scenes do a great job at setting the tone for the rest of the season, with certain cuts and shots particularly helping do this. In this blog post, I will be analyzing the editing techniques used in beginning of Season 1, Episode 1 of Stranger Things. This scene is showed in the first seconds of the episode. The camera tilts down to show this laboratory, which looks slightly mysterious. This is known as an establishing shot. It introduces the location where a scene will take place. The dim lighting, ambient nature noises, and fact that it's nighttime help set a foreboding mood, painting this building in an eerie light. This alludes to the action that's yet to come. Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog! Today, I'll be creating a moodboard for my future film. I'll be trying to capture the vibe of each of my characters--such as their choices of clothing, aesthetic, makeup style, designated color scheme, and others--in each moodboard I make.
