Date Finalization
Due dates are rolling around the corner, so it's time to get moving! Today, Lihi and I finalized the dates we're going to shoot my film opening. We had to make some compromises so the shooting days would align with both of our schedules. I have a calender with the planned days here:
The days circled in pink represent a potential filming day. I can't film on Good Friday and over the weekend as I'm heading to a wedding! April 6th is the day I return home. We have no school that day, presenting a good oppurtunity to film. However, Lihi might be away with her family on that day, so we aren't sure. It is more of a last-minute plan. If both of us happen to have cleared schedules or time avaliable, we'll make plans to shoot on April 6th on the day-of.
The days circled in red are more concrete shooting days. Besides school, which resumes on the 7th and 8th of April, we don't have much homework or any plans. This would make it a good time to film. Because my film is supposed to be set in the "morning," we are going to have to shoot before sunset after school. Both of us have a flexible time window. We're going to attempt to film from 4:30 to 6:00, which can potentially stretch into 6:30 if we need more time. We might also begin earlier at around 4:00 or 4:15 if Lihi can reach my house by then.

Planning the meet-up time put me into the shoes of a real filmmaker. It showed me all the planning that goes into production creation. It isn't just about designing sets, creating costumes, doing makeup, and coming up with a plot--although these are extremely important parts of film. It's also about getting everyone on board. While it seems straightforward, this process can be challenging! Sometimes, you have to bend your own schedule to accomodate for those of others, and vice versa.
On the topic of film creation, I've come across a movie featuring one of my favorite artists. This artist Manon Bannerman from the girl group Katseye! I'm very fond of this band, and the member Manon has recently directed, starred in, published her own short film. It's been all over my feed since it came out. In my next post, look forward to me watching, reacting to, and analyzing this film like how I did in my ETA case study!
