Meet the Characters

Hello everyone. I'm blogging to let you guys know I made... character sheets! I made them to help you guys learn more about my characters. I know I discussed their personalities and aesthetics briefly in my past blog posts, but today, I wanted to go more in-depth. I hope these sheets will help you understand and connect to my characters more, and also better comprehend their relationships! Without further delay, I present to you... Jillian & Lily!



I've also finally decided their names. I decided to keep them similar to Lihi and I's name, hence the names Lily from Lihi and Jillian from just Jil. But, I didn't want to change them completely because I wanted to maintain our attachment to these characters. I really like how these character sheets turned out! It took me back to when I made mood boards for these characters without fully knowing where they would take me, and how their personalities would end up being presented in my film. However, now I have a stronger idea, which is why I was able to write descriptions & actually provide pictures of how they'll look in the film!

Stranger Things: Editing Case Study

  Today, I'm doing a case study on my latest obsession: Stranger Things! Even in just the opening sequence, the show is able to instill fear, worry, and anticipation within the audience. The preliminary scenes do a great job at setting the tone for the rest of the season, with certain cuts and shots particularly helping do this. In this blog post, I will be analyzing the editing techniques used in beginning of Season 1, Episode 1 of Stranger Things. This scene is showed in the first seconds of the episode. The camera tilts down to show this laboratory, which looks slightly mysterious. This is known as an establishing shot. It introduces the location where a scene will take place. The dim lighting, ambient nature noises, and fact that it's nighttime help set a foreboding mood, painting this building in an eerie light. This alludes to the action that's yet to come. Mood Boards!

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog! Today, I'll be creating a moodboard for my future film. I'll be trying to capture the vibe of each of my characters--such as their choices of clothing, aesthetic, makeup style, designated color scheme, and others--in each moodboard I make. This way, you can get a feel for how the protagonists look and potentially act. But, before diving into things, let me give you a refresher of my film's plot: "A bubbly highschooler makes it her mission to get the school's notoriously gloomy loner to crack a smile. After 4 years of nonstop persistence, though, she accepts her fate: the loner doesn't value her company or her efforts. It was never worth trying in the first place.
